Giving Your Burdens to God

Father God, You are so much bigger and larger than anything that I could ever face.

The heavens can’t even contain You. Lord, lift and remove those burdens that I have been struggling to carry, yet refusing to release. Calm this fearful heart today, Lord. Give me peace of mind and peace of heart as I face those things that overwhelm me. Remind me of Who You are and Who You have been for me in every circumstance. My Peace. My Father. My Defender. My Protector. Trustworthy in every way. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

  1. Ask God to search your heart.
  2. Listen for what God tells you that you are holding onto.
  3. Confess your burdens to God that you know of and that God has shown you.
  4. Give your burdens to God
  5. Ask God to take your burdens

He will give your soul rest.

Matthew 11: 28-30 (NIV)

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Psalm 94:19 (NIV)

When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy

Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
